X-rays and history needed to pinpoint avian flu
By
Edward Susman
CHICAGO - The chest x-rays alone of a patient suffering from avian flu won't tell a physician that the individual has contracted the deadly disease, according to a U.K. radiologist who studied the medical data from 14 Vietnamese victims of the disease. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy useful for smallest lung nodules
By
Eric Barnes
CHICAGO - In the RSNA's interventional lung session on Wednesday, Dr. Demetris Patsios from the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada, presented a study on the efficacy of MDCT-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of subcentimeter nodules, concluding that FNAB is a useful tool, if less accurate than FNAB of larger lesions.
