RaySearch to add treatment control feature

Radiation therapy software developer RaySearch Laboratories said it will develop a treatment control feature, RayCommand, to work in conjunction with its RayStation treatment planning system and RayCare oncology information system.

RayCommand will be able to coordinate the activities of treatment machines and planning software between different treatment rooms to maximize beam utilization and minimize wait times, according to the company. The software will also provide support for online adaptive radiation therapy.

U.K. proton therapy technology firm Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) has decided to add RayCommand to its prior RayStation and RayCare order for its first proton therapy facility, which is currently under construction in London.
