Philips Medical Systems North America has cleared up some of the confusion regarding the status of Marconi’s PACS installed base. Philips will be providing field support and maintenance to Marconi PACS users through an agreement with London-based Marconi plc, the former parent company of Marconi Medical Systems of Cleveland.
Some Marconi PACS users have been concerned about their investment because Marconi’s PACS business was not included in Philips’ recent purchase of Marconi’s medical imaging business.
As part of the agreement, Marconi will transfer key employees to Philips, according to Bothell, WA-based Philips. Customers will receive the same support they had when Marconi managed the program, according to Philips.
