GE to buy Micro Medical

GE Medical Systems of Waukesha, WI, has moved to bolster its presence in the cardiac image management market, announcing today a definitive agreement to acquire Micro Medical Systems of Sioux Falls, SD. Micro is a provider of cardiology data repositories, integration solutions, and networking systems.

The agreement includes the purchase of the outstanding shares of Micro’s parent company, Life Diagnostics. The transaction, which is subject to shareholder approval and other customary conditions, is expected to close by September.
