The American Cancer Society (ACS) and Guardant Health plan to partner on an effort to improve access to cancer screening and advance health equity in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The new initiative will support the society's nationwide cancer screening efforts, the ACS said.
In California, screening rates are lower than national rates, according to the ACS. For example, 64% of California women aged 45 and older are up to date on screening mammograms, compared with 69% of women nationally.
Through the partnership, Guardant Health will support these ACS efforts:
- Expanding the I Love You, Get Screened campaign.
- Promoting digital tools on cancer.org.
- Supporting community health interventions.
- Collaborating with state coalitions.
Throughout 2025, the ACS will engage communities across the nation through campaigns aligned with key cancer awareness months, including prostate cancer in September, breast cancer in October, and lung cancer in November, it said.
