RadSite launches remote scanning accreditation program

Diagnostic imaging accreditation organization RadSite has launched its new national remote scanning accreditation program for CT and MRI imaging facilities.

The program addresses a growing need for standardized quality benchmarks, technologist credentialing, equipment safety, and remote imaging protocols, the company noted. A vast majority of remote scanning in the U.S. now is for MRI, but CT remote scanning programs are beginning to emerge, according to the firm.

For facilities, the program evaluates the following:

  • Remote technologist workflows and licensure
  • Clinical protocols and image quality
  • Equipment performance and compliance
  • Data transmission and cybersecurity safeguards
  • Oversight and quality improvement measures

RadSite has been a U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)-approved national accreditation organization under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008 since 2013. The CMS reviewed and approved its remote scanning accreditation program standards in early 2025, according to RadSite.
