US Oncology, Molecular Profiling Institute form cancer venture

Houston-based US Oncology has entered into a venture with the Molecular Profiling Institute of Phoenix to create the Tissue Banking and Analysis Center (TBAC).

TBAC will handle large volumes of bio-specimen collection and analytical services for US Oncology, and will also provide access to tissue samples, clinical trial design, biomarker development, and esoteric testing under the guidance of scientists from government and industry.

TBAC centralized tissue bank and analysis services also will help researchers improve the design of future cancer research studies, and will allow the selection of specific trial participants based on their molecular profile.
