Kodak nets European CR mammo orders

Eastman Kodak Health Group said 28 healthcare facilities in Europe have recently purchased the firm's DirectView CR mammography feature for its CR 850, 950, and 975 systems.

The Rochester, NY-based company has offered mammography functionality as an optional feature on these systems outside the U.S. and Canada since May 2005.

Kodak has applied to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval of its CR system for mammography, and the company said it is currently conducting clinical trials at several sites in the U.S. and Canada.

The European installations of the product will be in France, Germany, and Finland, according to Kodak.
