Mammography archive provider i3Archive of Berwyn, PA, is launching a new program to offer its archiving services directly to women.
i3Archive said that its Patient Portability Program will enable women to access the company's National Digital Mammography Archive (NDMA) directly to store and retrieve their personal health information. The data will be accessible via a Web portal and will be compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
i3Archive previously was exclusively marketing the system to healthcare providers and researchers, as well as through partnerships with medical imaging and healthcare information technology vendors.
The company said that it believes the new program will improve the quality of care women receive by centralizing patient data, reducing errors, and standardizing patient data into a common format. The company plans to expand the program to include cardiac disease, obesity, and other disease areas.
