Varian completes first Turkish order

Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, has installed its RapidArc radiotherapy unit for the first time in Turkey.

RapidArc is now in use at Acıbadem Healthcare Group's Maslak Hospital in Istanbul. Acıbadem Healthcare Group expanded its radiation therapy facilities in Turkey from three to five with new centers in Adana and Kayseri.

Doctors at Maslak are using the technology to carry out image-guided intensity-modulated radiation therapy on a range of tumors.
