Accuray scores revenues gains in fiscal Q2

Growth in both U.S. and international markets powered Sunnyvale, CA-based radiotherapy device developer Accuray to greater revenues in its second fiscal quarter (end-December 30).

Total net revenues in the quarter more than doubled to $26.3 million, compared with $11.3 million in last fiscal year's second quarter. The company's net loss was $7.3 million, compared with a net loss of $7.9 million in the same quarter a year ago.

For the six-month period, total net revenues were $59.1 million, compared with $15.2 million for the same period in 2005. The firm's net loss was $5.3 million, down from a net loss of $18.1 million in the same period a year ago.

As of December 30, 2006, the company said 91 of its CyberKnife systems had been installed at customer sites, up from 83 at the end of the first quarter. Of the installed systems, 58 are in the U.S., 24 are in Asia, and nine are located in Europe.
