Intraop reports Q2 results

Intraoperative radiation therapy firm Intraop Medical posted financial results for its first quarter of 2006 (end-March 31), a period that company executives said marked the firm's transition from R&D into manufacturing.

For the period, Intraop posted revenues of $1.1 million, with a net loss of $1.8 million. For the first half of the year, revenues were $2.2 million, with an operating loss of $1.3 million and a net loss of $3.3 million.

The company markets the Mobetron system for delivering intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) during cancer surgery.
