MDS rallies in Q2 results

Despite the past year's reactor shutdown turmoil, Canadian healthcare company MDS and its radioisotope developer MDS Nordion of Kanata, Ontario, posted revenue increases for its second quarter 2008 (end-April 30).

MDS reported total revenue of $350 million, up 28% compared to $273 million for the same period in 2007.

For the period, MDS Nordion delivered revenue of $80 million, up 13% from $71 million in the prior year.
