AMIC starts fluorine-18 production

Medical isotope producer Advanced Medical Isotope (AMIC) has begun production of fluorine-18 from its facility in Kennewick, WA.

AMIC said it began fluorine-18 production after receiving its radioactive materials license from the state of Washington on May 14, and it plans to begin production of pharmaceutical-grade fluorine-18 in mid-June. The facility uses a compact proton linear accelerator.
