Orbotech to buy DDD

Electronics industry technology firm Orbotech has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Danish cardiac gamma camera developer 3D Danish Diagnostic Development (DDD) for approximately $39 million.

DDD primarily distributes its cardiac gamma cameras in the U.S. on an OEM basis, according to Orbotech of Yavne, Israel.

Orbotech will also pay DDD stockholders an earn-out, capped at approximately $6.5 million, based on DDD's performance during 2007 and 2008. It expects the transaction has the potential to generate approximately $30 million in annual revenues.
