Digirad posts flat revenues, loss in 2005

Nuclear medicine vendor Digirad reported fourth-quarter revenues of $17.4 million, down 2.2% compared with the $17.8 million posted in the fourth quarter last year. For the period (end-December 31), the Poway, CA-based firm had a net loss of $2.8 million, compared with net income of $22,000 last year.

For 2005, Digirad had revenues of $68.2 million, compared with $68.1 million in 2004. The company had a net loss of $9.6 million, compared with net income of $245,000 a year ago.

CEO Mark Casner said that the company is optimistic it will regain momentum beginning in the second half of 2006 as its expanded and refocused sales organization gains experience and its marketing initiatives gain traction.

Digirad expects 2006 consolidated revenue to be between $70 million and $74 million, with a consolidated loss of $8 million to $10 million.
