Digirad issues 2005 guidance

Nuclear medicine vendor Digirad of San Diego said it expects total revenues in 2005 of $83 million to $86 million, according to a financial guidance issued yesterday.

The firm also forecast revenue in its Digirad Imaging Solutions (DIS) subsidiary to grow 27% to 31% compared with annualized third quarter-to-date 2004 revenues. The company expects to install between 15 and 20 additional imaging systems by DIS during 2005.

On a sequential-quarter comparison, Digirad said it anticipates first-quarter 2005 DIS revenues to grow moderately, reflecting the ramp-up time of newly hired sales professionals not yet generating significant revenue.

In addition, the firm said it expects increased sales, general, and administrative costs and an increased level of research and development activity. As a result, the firm anticipates first-quarter 2005 net income to be slightly better than breakeven.
