UltraSPECT launches new protocol

Nuclear medicine firm UltraSPECT of Auburndale, MA, has launched a new protocol for its Xpress3.Cardiac software.

The protocol is designed to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff in addition to lessening the impact of the medical isotope shortage on practices. It enables users to apply a "half-dose, half-time" protocol that combines reduced injection doses with shortened scan times.

The protocol can help sites cope with reduced supplies of technetium-99m, according to the company.
