Medtronic hires new VP

Interventional technology firm Medtronic has announced the appointment of Michael Coyle as executive vice president and group president of its cardiology businesses.

Prior to joining Medtronic, Coyle held a number of leadership positions with medical technology firms and, most recently, has served as a consultant to private equity, venture capital, and medical device firms, according to Minneapolis-based Medtronic.

He also served as president of St. Jude Medical's Daig catheter division and held a variety of leadership positions at Eli Lilly & Company.
