Sentinelle touts breast MRI coils

Canadian MRI technology developer Sentinelle Medical of Toronto is introducing a number of new Vanguard breast MRI coils at this year's RSNA meeting in Chicago.

For the GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., product line, Sentinelle is showcasing an expanded line of both stretcher and tabletop-based products for 1.5- and 3-tesla imaging on GE's Signa HDxt, Discovery, and Optima MRI platforms that will ship in 2010.

Sentinelle's Vanguard for Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, product line is expanded from the current 1.5-tesla eight-channel offerings for the Magnetom Espree, Magnetom Avanto, and Magnetom Symphony, A Tim system to additional applications including 3 tesla.

At this year's RSNA meeting, Sentinelle also is showing the only imaging and interventional breast coil available for the Magnetom Essenza platform, according to the company. The Vanguard for Siemens product line also now includes a new eight-channel offering for Siemens 3.0-tesla Magnetom Verio and Magnetom Trio MRIs.

For the Tustin, CA-based Toshiba America Medical Systems product line, Sentinelle has added to the current 1.5-tesla Vantage Atlas and Vantage Titan Vanguard with the new Vantage Titan 3 tesla, which is pending 510(k) clearance. An offering for the 1.5-tesla Vantage, a work in progress, will also be demonstrated. It also requires 510(k) approval and is not yet available in the U.S.
