Hitachi offers Ascent 5.0 upgrade for Altaire, Airis II, and Elite MRIs

Hitachi Medical Systems America of Twinsburg, OH, has launched the latest iteration of its MRI operating system application, Ascent 5.0, for its Altaire, Airis II, and Elite Open MR systems.

The standard configuration of Ascent 5.0 includes features for both Altaire and Airis II, including sequence enhancements, such as shared echo FSE for simultaneous collection of high-quality PD and T2-weighted images, and gated IR/FIR, which enables free-breathing abdominal T1-weighted imaging. The addition of FatSep FSE will allow Airis II users equipped with the developer's FatSep sequence to expand its application to T2-weighted imaging, combining the throughput advantage of FSE with fat/water separation.

In addition to a standard configuration, the operating system provides options for Altaire users such as CardioSuite, a cardiac imaging package, as well as Rapid parallel imaging software and receiver coils. Ascent 5.0 also offers all platforms the Workflow Plus optional package, a suite of interoperability features enabling conformance with the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Scheduled Workflow integration profile.

The upgrade is available at no charge to Hitachi customers under warranty or enrolled in the company's Ultra Plus customer support program, the vendor said.
