GE will add three new scanners to its Signa HD product family: two 1.5-tesla models and a 3-tesla product.

2005 11 09 15 16 21 706 Signa HDx is a 1.5-tesla system that features new 32-channel architecture, ultrafast reconstruction algorithms, and advancements in parallel imaging and data acquisition techniques. The scanner includes GE technologies such as the new premium XV releases of PROPELLER for motion-resistant brain imaging, VIBRANT-XV breast scanning, LAVA-XV body imaging, and TRICKS-XV time-resolved angiography.

GE customers with Signa 1.5-tesla scanners in the field will be able to upgrade to the new HDx platform, according to the company.

Signa HDe, the second 1.5-tesla scanner new from GE, is targeted to facilities where economics is important. It features a small footprint and a liquid-cooling technology that allows scanner installation in one week in a single scanning room.

HDe is available in four- and eight-channel configurations and supports many of GE's proprietary clinical applications.

On the 3-tesla front, Signa HDx 3.0T brings HDx technology to the ultrahigh-field market. Like the 1.5-tesla HDx, the more powerful model features a 32-channel architecture, ultrafast reconstruction algorithms, and GE's specialized applications and technologies.
