Computer-aided detection developer iCAD of Nashua, NH, will feature three products in its family of mammography CAD applications.

2006 11 02 15 31 54 706SecondLook Digital performs CAD on digital mammography images and can process up to 30 cases per hour. The second product, SecondLook 300, is designed for clinics with midvolume case loads. Both SecondLook Digital and SecondLook 300 were cleared for mammography applications this year by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Meanwhile, TotalLook is a software and digitizer package for clients converting to digital mammography.

All three products now boast upgraded capabilities due to iCAD's newly released CAD version 7.2. CAD v7.2 reduces false markings of vascular calcifications and lymph nodes, as well as those due to film noise or linear structures. The software has up to 96% sensitivity at 2.9 false positives per case, and can detect up to 72% of missed breast cancers an average of 15 months earlier than screening mammography alone, according to iCAD.

Also look for iCAD to talk up the agreement it signed in September 2006 with Fujifilm Medical Systems USA of Stamford, CT, to sell its products via Fuji's U.S. channels.
