Barco's Voxar product group will launch a new line of CT cardiac analysis software, as well as an application that provides real-time access to 3D visualization across the healthcare enterprise, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium company.

2005 11 16 14 23 07 706 CardiaMetrix is designed for structural and functional analysis of cardiac CT images and is available as an optional component within the company's flagship Voxar 3D software. The application enables automatic coronary artery vessel analysis, one-click coronary artery calcium scoring tools, dynamic 4D cardiac analysis using up to six phases, and automated cardiac left ventricle analysis and reporting.

On the enterprise side, Voxar 3D Enterprise uses server-based technology to distribute 3D tools to computer desktops throughout the enterprise. It enables access to large-volume studies in excess of 2,500 images, is available in site-wide licensing options, and can be integrated with existing PACS software.

CardiaMetrix and Voxar 3D Enterprise will be shown as works-in-progress and are not currently available in the U.S.

Barco will also discuss the addition of off-the-shelf, high-performance 3D accelerated graphics processing units, which improve productivity by accelerating image rendering capabilities within Voxar 3D applications.
