TomoTherapy president to retire

Radiation therapy developer TomoTherapy of Madison, WI, announced that its president will retire at the end of this month.

Paul Reckwerdt will retire on December 31. After retirement, he will serve as a strategic advisor to Compact Particle Acceleration (CPAC), which is developing a compact proton therapy system in partnership with TomoTherapy.

Reckwerdt cofounded TomoTherapy in 1997 with Rock Mackie, Ph.D., to commercialize a highly precise form of radiation therapy that the two pioneered as researchers at the University of Wisconsin.
