ADAC gets clearance for Skylight

ADAC Laboratories has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for Skylight, a gantry-free gamma camera. Skylight, which ADAC introduced with much fanfare at the 1999 RSNA meeting, features an architecture that allows gamma detectors to be mounted directly into a room structure. ADAC believes that Skylight also offers the potential to combine nuclear medicine studies with other imaging modalities, such as CT and ultrasound. In addition, Skylight could allow for the use of nuclear imaging in surgical and interventional applications, according to the Milpitas, CA-based vendor.
