ViewRay reports revenue increases for Q4, fiscal year

Image-guided radiation therapy vendor ViewRay reported preliminary revenue increases for its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2021.

For the quarter (end-December 31), ViewRay's revenue was approximately $20 million, up 11% from $18 million in the same period in 2020. For the full year, the company posted revenues of approximately $70 million, up 23% from last year's $57 million.

The company said it also received seven new orders for its MRIdian MRI-guided radiation therapy system in 2021, compared with five new orders in the same period in 2020. For the year, it received 28 new orders for systems -- an increase of 65% compared with 17 new orders in 2020.

PET/CT scans ‘crucial’ in patients with NK/T-cell lymphoma

A 50-year-old man with recently diagnosed nasal-type NK/T-cell lymphoma underwent an F-18 FDG-PET/CT scan (A–D) for initial staging. Maximum-intensity-projection image (A) shows hypermetabolic lesions in both ethmoid sinus (thin arrow), both cervical lymphatic chains (arrowhead), left upper lung (thick arrow), liver, and spleen. Transaxial images show an F-18 FDG-avid mass in both ethmoid sinus (B). The scan shows intense F-18 FDG radiotracer uptake in left upper lung and uptake in the liver and spleen (CT showed no lesions), suggesting malignancy (C–D). Finally, after the PET/CT scan was done, the patient’s staging was changed from II to IV.
FES-PET better than FDG-PET in breast cancer patients
