October 14, 2022 -- QT Imaging, along with the University of Illinois and Sunnybrook Research Institute, has received a five-year $3.1 million grant from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) for further development of its breast cancer treatment monitoring system, QTscan.

QTscan features reflection back-scatter algorithms developed by the University of Illinois and does not use ionizing radiation or contrast agents, the company said. It can be used to image the breasts of women undergoing neo-adjuvant chemotherapy treatments at repeated short intervals to assess breast cancer tumor response to treatment in days rather than weeks or months, according to QT Imaging.
