By staff writers

November 25, 2019 -- Medical imaging software firm AlgoMedica will commercially release PixelShine, its artificial intelligence-based CT noise-reduction software, at the upcoming RSNA 2019 meeting in Chicago.

PixelShine uses deep-learning algorithms to reduce noise from CT scans, allowing clinicians to obtain high-quality scans at very low radiation doses as well as extend the x-ray tube life of CT scanners, the company said. The software is vendor neutral.

AlgoMedica has received Europe's CE Mark and 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for PixelShine.
