By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

November 3, 2015 -- The American College of Radiology (ACR), RSNA, and the European Society of Radiology (ESR) are joining with a record number of 130 medical societies, patients, and advocates to recognize the International Day of Radiology (IDoR) on Sunday, November 8.

This year's celebration will focus on the improvements in children's healthcare made possible by medical imaging and radiation oncology, according to the societies. A book written especially for the event will be featured: "The Gentle Way: The Art of Paediatric Imaging," which was produced by 49 experts from Europe, Canada, and the U.S. It includes chapters on EuroSafe Imaging and Imaging Gently. The IDoR will also include celebrations during National Radiologic Technology Week, which runs November 8-14, as well as a Thunderclap campaign to help spread the word about the event via social media.
