launches density education study

May 15, 2019 -- Breast density education group has launched a study to assess the impact of an educational intervention regarding primary care physicians' knowledge of breast density and its implications for breast cancer screening and risk, as well as how comfortable they feel discussing the topic with patients.

The study is called "Improving Knowledge and Comfort in Discussing Breast Density Implications: Impact of on Healthcare Providers" and is funded by a grant from the American Cancer Society (ACS). Its principal investigator is Dr. Wendie Berg, PhD, of the University of Pittsburgh, the organization said.
