By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

October 3, 2022 -- Radiation therapy developer Accuray has installed its CyberKnife stereotactic radiotherapy system at two facilities in Africa, one in Egypt and another in Kenya.

The Children's Cancer Hospital 57357 in Cairo is the first facility in Africa to treat patients with the system, according to the firm, while the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital in Nairobi is the second.

Radiotherapy treatment with CyberKnife can be completed in one to five outpatient visits, a shorter course compared with conventional radiation therapy, Accuray said.
