March 17, 2017 -- Intermountain Healthcare said it will incorporate machine learning-based image analytics software from Zebra Medical Vision in a bid to enhance patient care.

Zebra Medical's analytics engine analyzes images for findings indicative of cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, and bone health problems. Intermountain will use the data to identify patients at risk and optimize care. As the Zebra Medical engine continues to grow and evolve, it will be capable of providing increasingly comprehensive reports that enable more accurate and cost-effective patient treatment, the companies said.

The engine can also scan large imaging archives to help healthcare organizations understand the underlying risk profile of their patients, the firms said.
