April 22, 2013 -- Radiation oncology firm Elekta has sold two Versa HD linear accelerators to MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas.

Versa HD, which received 510(k) clearance less than two weeks ago, is equipped with an Agility multileaf collimator for high-speed, high-precision beam shaping to support more accurate tumor targeting and improve preservation of healthy tissue.

MD Anderson plans to begin using the new linear accelerators in January 2014.
