Carestream starts selling new DR detector

Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, has begun marketing its new cesium iodide digital radiography (DR) detector.

The Carestream DRX-1C detector is now available in the U.S. and around the world, in countries where it is approved for use, according to Carestream. It is designed for general radiography exams including orthopedic, trauma, and pediatric. Carestream announced the detector at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) annual meeting in Washington, DC, in August.

The new detector is wireless and cassette-sized and uses the same battery and electronics as Carestream's DRX-1 detector. Also, like DRX-1, DRX-1C can be used with all three of Carestream's DR systems, including DRX-Evolution, DRX-1, and DRX-Mobile retrofit kit, the company said.
