Calypso launches clinical study

Electromagnetic localization technology developer Calypso Medical Technologies has commenced the first clinical study evaluating its Calypso system for lung cancer radiation therapy tracking.

The study will also include a new design of the Seattle-based firm's implantable Beacon transponder. Tygerberg Hospital of Cape Town, South Africa, is the initial clinical site, Calypso said.
