Security and health IT testing and certification firm ICSA Labs said it has teamed with nonprofit organization IHE USA to offer a new health IT certification program.
Designed to help ensure that different software and systems can connect securely, the program will offer industry-accepted certification to complement conformance testing to Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) integration profiles, according to ICSA, a division of Verizon.
Certification to these profiles, which also provide significant underpinnings to the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) specifications, will provide health IT buyers with independent, third-party assurance that the products are suitable for secure health data exchange and that they function as intended, ICSA said.
