Houston-based RIS firm Swearingen Software has awarded one of its radiology information systems to a Kansas hospital, the company said.
The award is the culmination of a contest that the company announced last year to give away a RIS to a hospital or clinic that was facing economic difficulties. Swearingen will give its RISynergy package to College Park Family Care Center in Overland Park, KS. The gift includes software, installation and training, and a year of free support.
Despite economic setbacks, College Park Family Care Center opened a not-for-profit clinic, Hope Family Care Center, in Kansas City, MO's poorest neighborhood, using money it would have used for a new RIS, according to Swearingen.
