Organizers of the fourth annual National Health IT Week are encouraging healthcare providers to go to Washington, DC, to lobby members of Congress and to participate in weeklong events scheduled September 21-25 in the nation's capital.
The objective of National Health IT Week is to raise awareness among public and private decision-makers of the transformative power of health information technology. Its annual goal is to elevate national attention, especially to members of Congress, on the necessity of health IT adoption.
Scheduled activities include a Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) policy summit, an IT showcase and demonstration in U.S. Senate office buildings, and a national rural healthcare IT summit meeting.
Information about participation may be obtained at HealthITWeek.org.
