Philips unveils CliniScape

Philips Medical Systems has unveiled CliniScape, a mobile clinical assistant (MCA), at the 2007 World of Health IT congress in Vienna.

The Andover, MA-based company's first MCA is a medical-grade, mobile point-of-care handheld device, which features a 10.4-inch pen-touch screen, radiofrequency identification (RFID), barcode scanning capabilities, and a digital camera to help nurses and doctors document a patient's condition instantly.

Philips expects CliniScape to be available in the second quarter of 2008.
