Healthcare products firm Cardinal Health said that it has become the sixth member of the Dossia founders group, an organization funding the development of a Web-based framework through which U.S. employees, dependents, and retirees can maintain lifelong personal health records (PHRs).
Dublin, OH-based Cardinal is the first healthcare company to join the initiative. Other members of the Dossia group include Applied Materials, BP America, Intel, Pitney Bowes, and Wal-Mart. The Dossia PHR is being developed by Portland, OR-based Omnimedix Institute.
