Radiology informatics developer Empiric Systems will highlight the features of its Encompass.Net Web-based radiology management system with RIS, PACS, and billing capabilities

New RIS/billing functions include a new component that scans documents as multipage TIF or Adobe PDF files or as DICOM images, integrated patient signature pads enabling a paperless environment, electronic remittance at billing, system-direct credit card co-payment processing, eligibility verification at billing, multiresource automatic scheduling, automated workflow improvements for radiologists, and a custom integration with the Synapse PACS software from Fujifilm Medical Systems USA of Stamford, CT.

New PACS functions include an integrated, customized version of the Clear Canvas open-source Microsoft .Net DICOM image viewer, more configurable DICOM routing rules, enhanced DICOM modality worklist capabilities, additional merge/split DICOM study capabilities, and increased DICOM header editing options, according to the Morrisville, NC, company.

The Encompass.Net product is currently available, Empiric said.
