Aycan has launched the aycan AI anonymizer, a configurable tool that automatically removes protected health information (PHI) from DICOM metadata and burned-in pixel data during medical imaging data routing and sharing.
The tool is available as an in-line module within aycan's DICOM router, anonymizing images during routing without requiring a separate workflow step, according to the firm. It is also available as an add-on to aycan store PACS.
The anonymizer is designed to support compliance with HIPAA and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and can be configured to identify and delete forms containing detectable text and remove secondary captures, the company said.
