GE HealthCare (GEHC) launched its new diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound system at the 2025 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
Called Vivid Pioneer, the system has been redesigned for 2D, 4D, and color flow imaging with AI-powered automation and measurement, according to GEHC. It aims to reduce interoperator variability and accelerate workflows, supporting clinicians at every experience level, GEHC added.
Vivid Pioneer features the cSound Pioneer imaging reconstruction algorithm, 4Vc-D and new 6Sc-D probes for visualizing fine anatomical structures and assessing cardiac function, AI Cardiac Auto Doppler for measurements, Easy AFI for strain results and ejection fraction analyses, and 4D Auto LHQ for left heart function assessment, according to GEHC.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k)-cleared Vivid Pioneer in July. The system is intended for use in a hospital environment, including echo lab, other hospital settings, the operating room, cath lab, and electrophysiology lab, or in private medical offices. Its compact form factor allows clinicians to navigate tight spaces and bedsides, the company noted.
