Why are doctors overriding CT guidelines for PE patients?
As much as 37% of CT pulmonary angiography exams for patients with a pulmonary embolism (PE) were ordered against guideline recommendations at a New York hospital, according to a new study. Researchers investigated the underlying reason for this discordance in an April 30 article published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology.

The incidence rate of lung cancer began climbing in women not long after CT lung screening began in China, but lung cancer mortality rates have yet to fall. And no effect has been seen yet in men, according to an article published in the June issue of Lung Cancer.
