CMS issues final rule modernizing Stark law

Cancer deaths resulted in more than 4 million potential years of life lost in the U.S. in 2017, according to a November 13 study in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. While overall cancer mortality has gone down, the potential number of years of lost life has remained stable due to the growing U.S. population.

Large study confirms value of CT lung cancer screening
CT lung cancer screening reduces the risk of death from lung cancer, according to a new meta-analysis that combines data from all randomized controlled trials performed so far. In fact, CT lung screening compares favorably with breast screening, researchers reported in the November edition of the Annals of Family Medicine.
