Even at very high doses, gadolinium-based contrast agents alone are not sufficient to cause nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in patients with kidney problems, and there are ways to diminish the likelihood of NSF occurring to nearly zero, according to a study from the Mayo Clinic.

CT and MRI are usually less effective for lesions with low fat concentrations, but would dual-energy CT be better at sussing out fat-containing pathologies?
