eMyosound to start cardiac ultrasound trial in 3 Boston hospitals

French cardiac ultrasound developer eMyosound plans to begin a clinical trial of its ultrasound elastography and 3D shear wave technology in three Boston hospitals.

The trial will be led by cardiologist Hanna Gaggin, MD, from Mass General Hospital and will be conducted at that institution as well as at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Medical Center. Its objective is to validate eMyosound technology for the quantitative assessment of myocardial stiffness in heart failure patients with non-reduced ejection fraction and cardiac amyloidosis, according to the firm.
