Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite has introduced NanoMaxx, a 6-lb ultrasound system for point-of-care visualization.
Designed for diagnostic imaging, clinical assessment, and procedural guidance at the hospital bedside and in a physician's office, the NanoMaxx system features one-button system control, according to the Bothell, WA-based vendor.
NanoMaxx is available with five transducers to support a range of examinations and procedures, including thoracic assessment for hemothorax, hydrothorax, and pneumothorax, as well as vascular access, needle aspirations, and injections, SonoSite said. It can also accommodate abdominal, cardiac, nerve, ob/gyn, musculoskeletal, small parts, and vascular scanning.
SonoSite has begun deliveries to international customers and is currently awaiting U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for U.S. distribution.
