Royal Philips and WellSpan Health have entered a seven-year strategic alliance covering advanced imaging technology, research collaboration, and co-development of new products across WellSpan's health system in Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland.
Under a long-term commercial agreement, Philips will serve as WellSpan's preferred vendor across all applicable imaging modalities, including CT, MR, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and image-guided therapy. The agreement covers all 12 WellSpan hospitals, as well as its diagnostic imaging centers and ambulatory surgery centers.
The alliance also includes a research agreement focused on validating the performance of AI and digital tools, examining their impact on throughput, cost, and workflow efficiency, according to Philips. An innovation component will allow WellSpan and Philips Research to co-develop new products and features drawing on Philips' research and development pipeline, with WellSpan serving as both a testing site and co-creator.
